While on patrol Saturday afternoon, police identified a Chevrolet car as owned by a male having an active criminal violation of probation warrant.
The man, Dakota Ragan of Vann Road, was detained and reportedly told officers there was “dope” in the car. It was discovered that Ragan’s warrant had already been served.
A passenger in the car, Dylan Carter of Seaton Avenue, was also found to have an active warrant for violation of probation, and was detained as well.
During a search of the vehicle, a baggie of a crystal like substance above the driver’s side door was found. According to the report, a magazine pouch with 4 needles that were capped, 2 cut straws, and 3 small baggies with a crystal like residue inside them, were also found where a second passenger was sitting, Brian Garrett of Afton.
Ragan was charged with with driving in possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule II drug. Garrett was summoned to General Sessions court for possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and Carter was served his warrant at the jail.
