Cross Anchor Utility District’s December bills may be delayed in getting to its customers this month. The whereabouts of the December batch, sent to around 3,500 customers, is currently unknown.
Utility Manager Chad Wampler said the bills were delivered to the Post Office properly, but then disappeared somewhere during transit. Wampler said that postal officials are trying to track down the bills, which may be at the regional processing center in Knoxville.
In the meantime. Wampler said that customers may contact the office beginning in Monday to inquire about their balance and pay their bill. Wampler said that if the lost bills are found by the postal service, they will be delivered to customers. But until they are located there is no way to know when that might be.
Customers may call (423) 639-5125 on Monday or pay their bills the district office at 800 West Andrew Johnson Highway.
