The State of Tennessee Report Card for school systems across the state was released on Thursday.
Greene County is 1 of 46 districts (among 144 districts in Tennessee) with a composite score of “5” on growth this past year.
For eight consecutive years, Greene County Schools has been a Level 5 district, this highest level given. Baileyton Elementary and Chuckey Doak Middle School were 2 of 290 schools statewide with a letter grade of “A” for 2023-24.
Other 2023-24 success highlights include
Chuckey-Doak Middle School (Letter Grade of “A” and a 5 in growth in all categories),
Baileyton Elementary (Letter Grade of “A” and a 5 in growth),
and both Nolachuckey Elementary and South Greene Middle School (Letter Grade of “B” and a 5 in growth).
Greene County Schools 2023-24 Report Card outcomes include:
Camp Creek went from a “D” in 2022-2023 to a “B”
WGHS’s improvement from a “D” last year to a “C” this year
North Greene High School and North Greene Middle School maintain a Grade “B”
South Greene High School received “B” status
Grade “C” was earned by Chuckey Elementary, Doak Elementary, Mosheim Elementary, West Greene Middle School, and Chuckey-Doak High School.
While literacy and growth among high needs students are identified as strengths for McDonald Elementary School, the school received a letter grade of “D” for 2023-24.
Each Greene County school has a prescriptive school improvement plan based on student data and which include a variety of stakeholders.
Each Greene County school continues to produce positive student outcomes, and we are very proud of the outstanding effort from all faculty and staff.
