Former Andrew Johnson Bank President and CEO James W. Bill Hickerson passed away this morning at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.
Bill Hickerson was hired in 1979 as CEO and president of City and County Bank and led the bank through its name change to Andrew Johnson Bank in 1980.
Under his guidance, the bank grew from $10 million in deposits in one office in Greeneville to $350 million in assets in seven locations spanning five cities. He retired from the bank in February of 2018.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
