The National Weather Service Office in Morristown indicates some snow could move into the area Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning
across northeast Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and the higher elevations of the mountains.
Light snow accumulations will be possible in these areas, especially over the higher elevations of southwest Virginia and the East Tennessee mountains where 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected.
Any precipitation will move out early Saturday through early next week.
Looking ahead, the Christmas Day forecast Wednesday is calling for rain over 40% of the listening area with a high of 54 degrees.
