An intoxicated Mohawk man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly beat on doors on Barger Lane.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area shortly after noon on Sunday after receiving complaints of an unwanted person beating on residents’ doors.
A man was found matching the suspect’s description in a nearby hayfield. The suspect, identified as Charles C. Turner of Mountain Valley Road, reportedly told deputies that he had owned the property for 3,200 years. He then began talking incoherently and making growling noises.
As he was approached, Turner allegedly told deputies not to do it. He tensed up when grabbed, but was then taken to the ground. He was placed into handcuffs without further incident.
While searching Turner before placing him in the patrol vehicle, a baggie containing a substance identified as methamphetmine was found in his pocket, along with a glass pipe.
Turner was charged with resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search, the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.
