The future ownership of the Center for Technology facility and the surrounding buildings and property on Hal Henard Road has yet to be determined.
The latest move in the discussions between the city and county took place at the Greene County Board of Education meeting Thursday night.
With a quick motion and second and no discussion, the board:
(1) Authorized the Director of Schools and Chairman of the Board to consummate the purchase of the Town of Greeneville’s one-third (1/3) interest in the McNeese property for $333,333,34 coupled with a request to the Greene County Legislative Body to issue bonds payable from Education Debt Service for the amount necessary to purchase the McNeese property in the event that the Town of Greeneville does not elect to purchase the Greene Technology Center property.
(2) Authorized the Director of Schools and Chairman of the Board to sell the Greene County Board of Education’s two-thirds (2/3) interest in the Greene Technology Center property to the Town of Greeneville for $1,333,333.34.
(3) Authorizing the sale of the residence (a portion of Track 4 of the Hal Henard property) owned jointly by the Town of Greeneville and the Greene County Board of Education for the appraised value of $250,000.00
