A Greeneville man faces charges of Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault related to a domestic situation between he and his girlfriend.
Greeneville Police responded to the Greene Villa Motel around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The victim reported Kevin Michael Bergman had held her against her will since last Thursday after she told him she was moving to a new apartment. She reported he became upset, not wanting her to leave, pushing her down on the bed and holding her down. That she said continued all weekend every time she tried to use the phone of go toward the door. She also said Bergman would threaten to kill her, and on Monday while holding her down, he held his hand over her mouth, not allowing her to breath, and knocking out a tooth. The Police report says she was finally allowed to use the phone and had her father come to the apartment. She told Police she was in fear Bergman would hurt or kill her if she tried to leave with her father. She did keep her father’s phone before he left, and after being allowed to get another room at the motel, called authorities to report the incident.
Investigation led to the Kidnapping and Aggravated Domestic Assault charges against Bergman, who was transported to the Greene County Detention Center to await a court appearance.
