Tuesday, December 3 is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement that is held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
The United Way of Greene County is hosting Give Greene, which provides an easy way to make online donations to local agencies, including the Greeneville City Schools Family Resource Center, the Greene LEAF Foundation for Greene County Schools, the Boys and Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County, ALPS Adult Day Services, and the CHIPS Family Violence Shelter.
According to Greene LEAF Executive Director Suzanne Richey, all donations to Greene LEAF marked “Give Greene” will be doubled through December 9. Over the years, Greene LEAF has purchased more than $800,000 worth of computers directly used by Greene County students. They have also supported the Magic Book Bus programs and provided materials and equipment for arts programs at all Greene County schools.
