Another local resident has reported being victim to a phone and computer scam.
The victim reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department that he had rceived a call demanding that he pay an $800 charge. The man says he logged into his computer, went to the site and typer $8,000 in error. He was then told to take the seventy two hundred dollar overpayment and go to a Bitcoin machine and make purchases of Bitcoin. He reports he made two such purhcases for $3000. When he went back home and logged into his computer, the account was empty and all funds were gone.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
