One of six defendents in the 1997 Lillelid murder trial in Greene County has again had a conviction appeal denied.
The Tennessee Supreme Court this week denied the application for appeal by now 45 year old Karen Renae Howell.
Howell and the five others were convicted in the shooting deaths of Vidar and Delfina Lillelid and their 6-year-old daughter, Tabitha. Only 2 year old son Peter survived the shootings on Payne Hollow Lane in north Greene County after being abducted at a nearby I-81 rest area.
All six defendants were sentenced in March of 1998 to three terms each of life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 25 years.
