ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University freshman forward Addison Rishling has been named second-team All-South Atlantic Conference in women’s soccer for the 2024 season, the SAC office announced Wednesday. Voting was conducted by the conference’s 12 head coaches.
Rishling led the Pioneers with seven goals and 14 points in 14 matches, with five of her goals coming in nine SAC contests. Rishling had back-to-back two-goal matches against Emory & Henry and Limestone and was honored as the SAC WePlayed Sports Offensive Player of the Week and the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Player of the Week for her efforts.
The Wonder Lake, Illinois native scored three of the Pioneers’ four match-winning goals during the season, collecting the winners in a 1-0 win at Lees-McRae on Sept. 11, a 2-1 win at Emory & Henry on Oct. 16, and a 5-0 victory at Mars Hill on Oct. 29. She ranked second on the team with 25 shot attempts and 14 shots on goal.
Rishling’s seven goals are tied for seventh in the conference in all matches, while her five goals in league play were tied for fifth-most. Her three game-winning goals are tied for fourth-best in the conference, one off the lead.
Tusculum finished the 2024 season with a 4-11-1 overall record and a 2-8-1 mark in conference play, tied for 10th in points with Newberry.
Evan O’Leary of Lenoir-Rhyne was voted SAC Offensive Player of the Year, with Defensive Player of the Year honors to Laura Holt of Wingate. Maia Clark of Coker was selected Freshman of the Year, and Katie Mitchell of Wingate took Coach of the Year accolades.
