Members of the Greene County Regional Planning Commission voted to maintain the current rules in place as they pertain to tiny houses and campers.
County Attorney Roger Woolsey says concerns by some that those renovating or reconstructing their homes after Hurrican Helene might not be able to use such housing due to local regulations.
Woolsey and County Building Official Tim Tweed explained to board members that the current rules would not prohibit property owners from living in such temporary housing , pending that proper regulations , as in any housing situation, are followed.
In another matter related to housing, the board voted to extend the moratorium on expanding or constructing new campgrounds. Tweed says his office has yet to receive any such request. The extension would run through March 18th.
Both items are on the agenda for the Monday night meeting of the County Commission.
