Further details are available on a single-vehicle accident that occurred early this morning on Bowmantown Church Road, near the Greene/Washington County line.
The wreck occurred shortly after midnight when a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Spencer Winstead of Tennessee approached a right-hand curve and lost control. His car then continued straight and came to rest against a tree on the left side of the roadway.
Winstead and a passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Gavin Swiger of Tennessee, were injured in the wreck.
Highlands Air Rescue was called to the scene, along with the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad, Limestone Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.
Charges are pending in the accident, according to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
