Two people were arrested after leaving the scene of an accident on Friday afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 1900 block of Jockey Road around 3:00 PM regarding two occupants of a single-vehicle crash leaving the scene. David Beckey of Milburnton Road and Brenda Peters of Parrottsville were located down the road from the crash scene. Beckey was reportedly seen tossing a bag into the grass.
Beckey admitted to driving and stated he lost control of the vehicle. The bag he tossed was recovered and contained a substance identified as methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. Beckey performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of schedule 2 drugs, possession of drug parapheranalia, and tampering with evidence.
Peters allegedly admitted to having a glass pipe in her purse. A search was then conducted and the pipe was found, along with methamphetamine. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine.
