The winners have been announced for the 15th annual Scarecrows of Main decorating contest.
Main Street Greeneville was the organizer of the event, with sponsorship from Broyles General Store on West Main Street. Just under 7,000 votes were cast in this year’s contest.
The People’s Choice winners were as follows:
*Business – Traditional – Andrew Johnson Bank, 124 North Main Street
*Business – Other – Greeneville Federal Bank, 101 West Summer Street
*Group/Organization – Traditional – Lifecare Center of Greeneville, Crescent School
*Group/Organization – Other – Walters State Service Learners, North Main Street
*Residential – Darlene Clark, 301 North Main Street (Best Overall)
*Youth – Asbury United Methodist Church, 201 South Main Street
New to the contest in 2018 was the Best Overall entry. As in the past years, all entries were viewed and judged by independent judges from outside of the area with no regard to category or votes received. They were judged on creativity, theme, and overall display presentation. All entries were eligible. Clark received a Broyles General Store gift card, certificate, and Best Overall signage.
All entries will remain on display through November 2.
