Early voting in Greene County is on pace to shatter previous records as six days remain in the early voting period.
Another 1,511 early votes were received Thursday by the Greene County Election Commission, bringing the total number of early votes to 11,658. That is just over three-quarters of the 2020 early vote total of 15,220. Those 11,658 early votes already surpass the total number of early votes for the 2012 and 2016 election years.
Nearly 11,000 of the early votes have been cast in person at the Election Commission office on CCU Boulevard. About one out of four registered voters in Greene County has already cast their ballot for the November 5 election.
Early voting is open today from 8:30 AM until 5 PM and again on Saturday from 8:30 AM until 2 PM. Early voting continues next week through Thursday, October 31.
