Firefighters were called to extinguish a fire that involved items not included on a burn permit for the location.
The Town of Mosheim Fire Department was called to a gravel driveway along South Spring Street just after noon on Wednesday, and encountered a lot of black smoke and rolling fire. A worker for a construction company at the scene said that a hole had been dug and that tires, PVC pipe and other items that were not to be burned were included.
A burn permit was in place, but not for the items that were burning as confirmed by both the fire department and the worker. The fire department put out the blaze and contacted the Office of Emergency Management.
