A man was arrested late Monday afternoon following a pursuit that damaged two other vehicles.
A white 2003 Oldsmobile Alero was seen traveling over a blind hill around 5:30 Monday afternoon, then driving into the wrong lane of travel. The vehicle failed to stop for multiple traffic control devices, and the pursuit resumed on the Blue Springs Parkway.
During the pursuit, the vehicle struck another vehicle from behind near Hillcrest Street, but continued with heavy front-end damage. Mosheim police placed spike strips at Emerald Road, but the car went through a yard onto Emerald Road and then onto the West Andrew Johnson Highway, where another vehicle was struck.
The driver continued at a high rate of speed in the opposite lane of travel, then turned onto Fox Trail where the car stopped. During the traffic stop, officers found a backpack that contained a box that held multiple syringes and baggies, along with a small amount of cocaine.
The driver, identified as 32-year-old Dillion Boyd, was charged with felony evading arrest, two counts of reckless endangerment, driving on a suspended license and drug violations.
