Secretary of State Tre Hargett has announced that six counties impacted by Helene have updated plans for the November 5 state and federal election.
Greene County is among the six counties affected, but there are no significant changes expected to either early voting or in-person voting on Election Day.
Early voting begins on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and will be open Monday through Saturday at the Election Commission office on CCU Boulevard. All in-person voting locations in Greene County are expected to be open as usual on Election Day, but voters are encouraged to monitor road conditions for possible closures that day.
Other counties in Northeast Tennessee, including Carter, Cocke, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington counties, have moved polling places due to issues with access and availability of polling places.
Early voting will continue from October 16 until Thursday, October 31.
