The Chuckey Utility District announced late Wednesday night that crews have completed the last connection on the water line across the river at the Kinser Bridge site.
The slow process to fill the lines has begun, as crews must make sure the system is stabilized as the lines gain pressure. Once the lines are fully operational, service will be restored by Chuckey Utility District to the areas of the Erwin Highway, Horse Creek, Middle Creek and up to South Central.
An estimate as to how long it will take for the lines to be operational was not provided in Wednesday’s update. Some customers reported that their service had been restored as of late Wednesday night.
The utility reminds customers that water needs to be boiled for three to five minutes before consuming.
