Ballad Health CEO Alan Levine was in Greeneville on Thursday and stopped to speak about the loss of Boone McCrary, a nurse at Greeneville Community Hospital. McCrary’s boat was swept away by the swift waters near Bird’s Bridge on the river on Friday. His body was found Wednesday about four miles below the dam near Allen’s Bridge.
Levine spoke of McCrary’s love of the river and his commitment to help others, both as a nurse and in his final moments. McCrary, his girlfriend, and faithful dog were attempting to access the river in an attempt to search for anyone needing help or rescuing.
Levine said the hospital would find a way to appropriately remember McCrary’s dedication to his fellow man.
