The search will continue today for a Greene County man who was swept away on the river on Friday.
Boone McCrary and his friend Ray Santana were in a boat on the Nolichuckey River Friday near Bird’s Bridge when his boat was swept into the bridge. Santana was able to be rescued, but McCrary and his faithful dog were swept down river. Personnel at the Kinser Park campground said they saw McCrary go by calling for help.
McCrary’s boat was located mid afternoon on Sunday and his dog was found deceased nearby. Family members have asked for anyone who may have videos or photos of the Nolichuckey Dam between 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday to please review them to see if any sign of McCrary can be seen.
A couple in Cocke County died when their car was overtaken by floodwaters in the area near Conway Bridge in the Briar Thicket area.
