The first gallons of drinking water are now being made available on the south side of the Nolichuckey River.
Tyson Lamb with Chuckey Utility District said that a temporary line as been pulled across the Earnest Bridge on Chuckey Pike and that drinking water will be distributed until dark tonight.
Lamb said that a 6,000 gallon tanker has been set up and that this is fresh water available for DRINKING. You must bring a clean container that is capable of storing water for drinking. This water is not to be used for bathing, washing clothes, or flushing toilets. There is a limited supply and there will be a maximum of ten gallons allowed.
This is ONLY for drinking. Those needing water can come to the south side of the Earnest Bridge on Chuckey Pike with their clean container.
