Officers were called to check on a report of a man passed out in the grass under a tree on Elm Street Friday afternoon.
Around 2:15, police located a man, identified as Mack Peters of Carson Street, passed out and unresponsive to voice commands. An officer applied a sternum rub, and Peters eventually woke up. According to the report, he had a very slurred speech and after being asked to stand, was unsteady on his feet.
Believing Peters to be under the influence and a danger to himself, police placed him under arrest for public intoxication. A search located a bottle with an unledgible lable that contained 15 Soboxone pills. Peters was transported to the Detention Center, charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of Schedule 3 drugs.
