A second person has died from injuries she received in an accident earlier this month.
Mary Louise Burns, age 88, died Wednesday morning. She was a passenger in a car driven by 94-year-old Scott Wells that was struck as it was attempting to pull into a crossover near Pal’s on East Andrew Johnson Highway on September 1. Scott Wells died later that day from his injuries after being flown to the Johnson City Medical Center.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. All three occupants were wearing shoulder and lap belts, and air bags deployed in both vehicles.
The Greeneville Police Department responded along with EMS, Rescue Squad and the Greeneville Fire Department.
