A man was reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department after allegedly paying for merchandise at the Love’s Travel Center in Bulls Gap with counterfeit bills last week.
The suspect came into the business early Wednesday morning wearing a ball cap and a blue hoodie. He purchased items totaling around $580 and paid with $100 bills that were later determined to be counterfeit. The man came back on Friday and allegedly attempted to pass off fake $20 bills, but was denied.
After reviewing security cameras, it was determined the man was in a black semi truck that had the word “AREA” on the side. The DOT numbers were 358803. There was also an unidentified female passenger with him.
Love’s Travel Center was still working to identify the suspect at the time of the report. The counterfeit bills were placed into evidence.
