HUNTSVILLE, ALA. — The Tusculum women’s volleyball team fell in the first match of the UAH Invitational to the team from Arkansas, Harding.
Tusculum (2-3) lost the three-set decision to Harding (3-2) by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-14.
Three Bisons players recorded 10 kills apiece: Skyler McKinnon, Jacey Lambert, and Maegan Lacy. Olivia Wiedower dished out 38 assists, while Tatum Fouche landed four service aces. Fouche and Maddie Burrough reached double figures in digs with 15 and 12, respectively. Ashley Lamkin was credited with five total blocks defensively.
For Tusculum, Addison McLarty finished with a match-high 11 kills. Whitney Thompson tallied seven kills on a .667 hitting percentage. Rounding out the scoring were Olivia Crowl (4), McKayla Willey (4), Katherine Perrin (4), Madison Adkins (2), Amiranee Au (2), and Martina Foster (1). Adkins distributed 27 assists, while Audrey Tribble landed half of the Pioneers’ aces (3). Au led TU with 12 digs, while McLarty added two rejections.
Harding hit .367 as a team with 48 kills and eight errors on 109 total attempts. Tusculum hit .208 with 35 kills, 14 errors, and 101 total attacks. The Bisons led the Pioneers in assists (45-32), service aces (7-6), digs (49-41), and total blocks (9-3).
Tusculum continues at the UAH Invitational on Friday the 13th with two matches: the hosting Chargers at 1:15 p.m. and No. 12 Ferris State at 5:45 p.m. Both times are listed as Eastern Standard.
