According to the Tennessee Division of Forestry has issued today’s fire danger as moderate.
The risk of a wildfire is going to continue to elevate until there is significant rainfall in the area. Dry conditions are prone to ignition and can cause small fires rapidly. The Greeneville/Greene County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security office has advised to have caution when burning debris today. According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, there is a 10-20% chance of showers this afternoon and tonight.
A cold front will reportedly approach the northern sections of the eastern Tennessee valley on Saturday evening. Some stronger storms are possible in the mid to late afternoon and evening. A few damaging wind gusts will be
the main threat.
