A Greeneville man was arrested for public intoxication Wednesday after reportedly almost getting hit by a vehicle when running across the highway.
Greeneville Police were on patrol around 11 PM Wednesday when they saw the man, dressed in black, run across the East Andrew Johnson Highway near Publix. The report states the man, later identified as Brennan Love, was almost struck by a pickup. Love reportedly ran across the highway again, toward a gas station parking lot on the 2200 block.
The officer stopped Love to check on his safety. He was reportedly unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot eyes, and had a strong smell of alcohol. Love did admit he was drinking. He was arrested for his safety and the safety of the public.
