A man was arrested Tuesday night following an incident in which he allegedly assaulted a woman and stabbed a dog.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Blue Springs Road in Mohawk around 9:45 PM. A man at the residence, Shawn Hall, reportedly became intoxicated and started to argue with the victim. He allegedly grabbed her by the hair, drug her into the house, and punched her. When a dog in the home tried to pull Hall off the victim, he reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the dog three times. He then threatened the victim with the knife, resulting in cuts and scrapes on her.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Hall continued to be aggressive and would not follow orders to get on the ground. Hall was placed at taser point, eventually followed orders, and was placed into handcuffs. After backup arrived, Hall allegedly kicked a deputy in the groin area as an attempt was made to place him in a patrol vehicle. Hall was then shackled and placed into a vehicle to be transported to the Greene County Detention Center, where he reportedly continued his aggressive behavior.
Hall was charged with aggravated domestic assault, assault on an officer, aggravated cruelty to animals, and resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search.
