A Limestone man was arrested Friday on drug charges after he was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane on the Kingsport Highway around 5:30 PM. The driver quickly swerved back into the correct lane. When the deputy turned around and caught up to the vehicle, it pulled into a driveway.
The driver was identified as Stephen Hensley of Clear Springs Road. He was discovered to have a suspended license. A cigarette carton was found in his pocket that contained a baggie with a crystal-like residue and another baggie with pills. A search of the vehicle produced a glass pipe, another cigarette carton containing 4.5 grams of a substance identified as methamphetamine, and more pills. A 6-pack of beer was also found, with one half drunk on the passenger floorboard.
Hensley was transported to the Greene County Detention Center for possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the open container law, and driving on a suspended license 1st offense.
