A Chuckey man was arrested this morning after 1 AM for domestic assault after deputies were called to the 3000 block of Fishpond Road.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the home after a complaint regarding a potential domestic dispute. Deputies found a broken window and glass in the yard. After several knocks, a woman came to the door and was joined by a male.
The alleged suspect initially stated the pair were sleeping and that there was no altercation. He then stated the victim’s blood sugar was low and she became violent. The report states the suspect showed physical signs of being in an altercation with cuts around his neck and bruising.
The victim was hesitant to speak on the matter but eventually told deputies the suspect was drinking all day, became belligerent, and the two were arguing. The man reportedly grabbed the victim’s hair, pulled her down, dragged her throughout the house, sprayed her with a sink hose, and shoved a towel into her face. The victim fought back and was able to get outside to set her car alarm off, in the hopes someone could help her.
According to the report, the victim had bruises on her arm, scratches and red marks on her. There was also glass and items scattered inside of the residence. The suspect was arrested for domestic assault and taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
