The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that the state unemployment rate for July remained at the all-time low of 3.0 percent.
July marked the third consecutive month the state rate has held steady at 3.0 percent. Employers across the state added 2,000 new nonfarm jobs between June and July. During the past year, Tennessee added 22,600 additional nonfarm jobs.
The national unemployment rate for July was 4.3 percent, up from 4.1 percent in June.
County unemployment data will be released next week.
