A Greeneville woman reported that a lock box that she kept inside her home was broken into and more than $5,000 was missing.
On Wednesday afternoon, the victim told police that she had added some money to the box on July 20 at her home on Fairgrounds Road. She took the box with her while going to look at a vehicle, and discovered that the lock was broken and a total of $5,100 cash was gone.
The victim told police that a door at the residence was occasionally left unlocked due to a key being lost, and that someone had been caught looking in the window on a couple of occasions.
