According to the National Weather Service, there is a Flood Watch for Greene County through Wednesday morning.
Multiple rounds of storms are expected today continuing through tonight. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging winds as the main concern. There is also a low-end threat for a brief, spin-up tornado. It is still uncertain when the strongest storms will occur, but the threat exists for this whole timeframe.
Recent heavy rainfall followed by multiple rounds of storms has elevated the potential for flooding. A flood watch for flash flooding has been issued until 5 AM on Wednesday.
Wednesday and Thursday afternoons will be hot and humid, with afternoon heat values near Knoxville and south in the valley potentially exceeding 100F each afternoon into the early evening hours.
