Local law enforcement officers and School Resource Officers (SROs) should take advantage of a new opportunity to receive additional funds for their hard work in schools and within the community.
The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) and the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards Training (POST) Commission have announced the Salary Supplement Rollout for all eligible law enforcement officers and SROs.
According to a press release, this summer, eligible law enforcement officers will receive an $800 retention bonus if they have completed their 2023 in-service hours. You must be employed as a law enforcement officer at the time of your application. An additional $800 will be awarded to all SROs who completed the 2023-24 academic year as well as all applicable training.
The bonus is part of the $84M investment for support to Tennessee law enforcement by Governor Bill Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly.
