A Greeneville man was arrested following a traffic stop early today.
A Dodge Dakota was seen shortly after midnight on West Summer Street with no license plate light visible. The driver, Andy Wanczak, pulled into his nearby residence when officers initiated a traffic stop. When Wanczak was asked to step out of the truck, a baggie containing a little over three grams of a substance identified as methamphetamine was seen in the center console.
Wanczak was told multiple times to turn around and place his hands behind his back. He reportedly refused and argued with officers. When an officer grabbed his arm, Wanczak resisted and clinched his arms for around 15 seconds before handcuffs could be placed on him. A search of the vehicle found digital scales with crystal-like residue.
Wanczak was arrested for simple possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search.
