Motorists in Greene County will experience delays early Wednesday morning as an oversized load makes its way from the Knoxville area toward the Tri-Cities.
The load will be accompanied by rolling roadblocks as it travels northbound on Highway 11-E through Greene County between 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Wednesday on its way to Eastman Chemical Company.
The load is too large to pass under the bridge at Interstate 81, so it will be taken off the off-ramp and brought back on to 11-E on the other side. This will cause traffic delays on the interstate.
When the load reaches the bridge over Summer Street, it will also have to be rerouted. The load will take the off ramp onto Summer Street and the on-ramp back onto 11-E on the other side of the bridge. That will cause closure and delays on Summer Street as well.
The convoy is expected to arrive at Eastman around 1:00 Wednesday afternoon.
