Police were called for a welfare check of a male at the gas pumps in the 3700 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway. Officers arrived and identified the man as Nathaniel Crum, of Chuckey.
According to the report, Crum was stumbling and had slurred speech. EMS was requested to check Crum’s blood sugar, after which Crum twice performed poorly on Standard Field Sobriety Tests. He was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
A search revealed a container containing suspected pressed fentanyl disguised as oxycodone in the man’s pocket. At the Greene County Detention Center, approximately 27.6 grams of suspected meth were found in Crum’s right sock, along with a straw.
Crum consented to the implied consent for a blood draw. Before signing the consent, Crum reportedly stated that he had two twisted teas, oxycodone, marijuana, and benzos in his system.
Crum was charged with driving under the influence, two felony counts of possession of schedule II drugs, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and driving while in possession of methamphetamine.
