Updated 7/6/2024: Emergency personnel responded to a wreck involving a motorcycle around 2:00 Friday afternoon on the Asheville Highway in front of Ma & Pa’s Restaurant.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report, an SUV driven by 84-year-old Betty Sea was traveling southbound on State Highway 70. A motorcycle operated by Grayson Gwinnet of Georgia was traveling northbound, and the SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle.
EMS responded to the scene. A medical helicopter was requested, but could not fly due to storms moving through the area.
The driver and a passenger in the SUV were reportedly not injured. The extent of Gwinnet’s injuries were not known at the time of the report.
