A Greeneville man reportedly demanding money from people on the 1300 block of Tusculum Boulevard was arrested Monday for Public Intoxication.
The Greeneville Police Department responded to the scene on the report of drunkenness. An officer found a male matching the description given by the complainant. He was identified as Joseph Williams.
According to the report, Williams was walking very quickly toward Mason Street and when stopped by the officer he was extremely jittery. He reportedly seemed under the influence of drugs and did poorly on field sobriety tests, showing more signs of intoxication.
When questioned if he had anything illegal in his pocket, Williams responded he had a Meth pipe. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and unlawful drug paraphernalia. Williams later admitted to taking suboxone and possessing the meth pipe post-Miranda warning.
