A Greeneville man was arrested with aggravated burglary Thursday night after allegedly trying to get into two homes on Whitehouse Road.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office spoke with one of the victims from a home on the 2100 block, who said the suspect, Jimmy Metcalf, was reportedly trying to open the storm door. The victim said Metcalf acted as if he was knocking when he saw deputies arriving.
Another victim on the 2000 block of Whitehouse Road said he and his wife heard a noise at the side door when they saw a man described as Metcalf trying to get inside the residence. The man also attempted to get in through the front door.
When deputies spoke with the suspect, he stated he was trying to get a ride to Old Asheville Highway. Metcalf was issued criminal trespass warning tickets, taken into custody, and transported to the Greene County Detention Center without incident.
