The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon the state’s unemployment rate dropped to an all-time low rate of 3.0 percent in May.
The rate in April was 3.1 percent, which was the previous all-time low. That rate was first recorded for the state in April 2023.
Tennessee employers created 3,300 new nonfarm jobs between April and May 2024. During the past year, employers added 8,000 nonfarm positions.
County unemployment data will be released next week.
