A Bulls Gap Church reported a forged check to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department Monday.
The complainant said she was going through the books for the church Saturday and discovered a check that had cleared through their bank account for $1,500. She said there were no checks missing out of the church’s checkbook.
After further investigation by the complainant, she went to the bank and discovered the check was completely forged. It was made out to the suspect and signed by an unknown name who is not authorized to sign the church’s checks.
The check was deposited by mobile deposit to a PNC Bank.
