A man is facing charges after leaving an accident on Thursday afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded around 3:30 PM to the scene of a crash without injuries at the Rheatown Road and Old Stage Road intersection. Upon their arrival, one of the drivers had left the scene. He reportedly told employees of the Rheatown Store that he lived nearby and would be right back. However, the suspect never returned to the scene of the crash.
Deputies reviewed store video and identified the driver, who was named in the report. During the crash investigation, it was found that the suspect had a revoked license, had swapped tags on the vehicle, and was using his deceased mother’s insurance.
Deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect at his listed address, but were unsuccessful.
