A man who was reportedly evading the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday was found unresponsive inside his vehicle after it crashed into a ditch on Democrat Road.
The man, later identified as Logan Harris of Mohawk, was seen driving through a stop sign off North Mohawk Road and was reportedly driving recklessly. A deputy attempted to catch up but the suspect allegedly sped up and continued toward McDonald Road. The deputy lost sight of the vehicle and discontinued his pursuit.
According to the report, while traveling on Democrat Road the deputy saw a black trail leading into a curve. The vehicle was located wrecked and resting in a ditch. Harris was found unresponsive in the passenger seat but reportedly woke up a few moments later. Harris stated he fled because he did not have insurance on his vehicle.
Harris said he had head and neck pain. He was taken to the hospital for a possible concussion. Once he was released he was given charges for felony evading, violation financial responsibility, and for not having his seat belt on. The Tennessee Highway Patrol also worked the crash.
