A man was killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning along the Blue Springs Parkway.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Joshua Hixson was traveling southbound on Blue Springs Parkway near Rolling Hills Road around 8:20 Saturday morning. Hixson’s 2010 Nissan Altima sedan crossed the double yellow center line and struck a northbound 2014 Nissan Rogue driven by 73-year-old Clara Bailey.
Hixson’s car ran off the roadway, down an embankment and came to a rest after striking a barbed-wire fence. Hixson died in the collision, and a passenger, 37-year-old Tina Funderberg, was injured. Bailey was also injured in the wreck. Neither Hixson nor Funderberg was wearing a seat belt, but Bailey was wearing her seat belt.
This was the eighth road fatality of the year in Greene County and the second this week, compared to 12 at the same point last year.
