Residents from a home on Sweet Pea Trail recently paid for a construction project in their backyard and said they canceled the project because it was taking too long and are now out of $15,000.
According to the report, the residents hired two men for the project. One of the men subcontracted another man for a concrete job at the residence. The contract stated it would be a $30,000 job with $15,000 paid up front, $10,000 to be paid once the concrete job was done, and then a final payment of $5,000 once the project was complete.
The residents said the project was taking too long and after paying the initial $15,000 they wanted to terminate the contract. But the subcontractor for the concrete job spoke with the victim and was reportedly complaining as he stated he completed his portion of the project but had not been paid and was out of $9,000.
This will allegedly be a civil matter and court procedures were advised.
