The Greene County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for tinted taillights on Wednesday resulting in the arrest of three people and over 33 grams of Methamphetamine located.
The vehicle was stopped around 10 PM near Oakdale Drive South in Limestone. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Dustin Shelton of Greeneville who reportedly had active felony warrants. Shelton was told to exit multiple times but allegedly did not comply. Deputies tried removing him from the car but said he kept resisting and pulling away so he was shot with a Taser.

Shelton was taken to the hospital for evaluation before he was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
Three other occupants were removed from the vehicle. K9 Narco was requested to the scene and gave a positive alert. During a vehicle search, a pistol was found underneath Shelton’s seat with a round in the chamber and 15 rounds in the magazine.
A glass pipe and baggy with a crystal like substance was found near the driver’s seat, identified as Joe Griffith of Jonesborough. He was arrested and charged for sale/delivery of schedule two and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Makalia E. Johnson of Greeneville was searched during a pat down. A large baggie consistent with meth was found near where the pat down was. After reviewing dash cam footage, Johnson was seen lifting her shirt and tossing an object. She was arrested and charged with sale/delivery of schedule two and tampering with evidence.
A total of 33 grams and two grams of heroin was located. Shelton was arrested for violation of probation, criminal violation of probation, capias, sale/delivery of schedule two methamphetamine), felony possession of schedule one (heroin), possession of schedule three (suboxone), possession of schedule four (alprazolam and clonazepam), resisting arrest, possession of firearm during commission of felony, and unlawful carry/possession of a weapon.
